When Paul McCartney moved in with his girlfriend Jane Asher and her family, Jane’s brother Peter heard Paul playing a song that John Lennon didn’t like.
Peter and his friend Gordon had just signed a recording contract as the duo Peter and Gordon and needed songs for their first recording session.
Peter remembered the rejected Beatles song and asked if Peter and Gordon could record it. It was an international smash hit and a song that he still plays every time he performs.
Peter is currently touring Australia with guitarist Albert Lee.
