Paul McCartney performed a special solo rendition of The Beatles’ 1968 single “Lady Madonna” on the One World: Together at Home special on Saturday night (Apr. 18).
Introduced by co-host Jimmy Fallon as his “favorite singer/songwriter,” Paul prefaced his performance with a shout out to his mother Mary, a midwife and nurse after the second world war. “So I have a lot of time for all the doctors and the nurses, and the medical staff to keep us healthy,” he explained.
Curated in collaboration with Lady Gaga and organized by Global Citizen, the One World: Together at Home special is airing across CBS, ABC and NBC on Saturday night, with proceeds aimed “to support frontline healthcare workers and the WHO.”
