Ringo Starr is ready with his new extended play “Rewind Forward”
and says he has loved extended plays since they first came out in the 1960s, and he was happy to hear that youngsters are making EPs again… “Right now, I’m EP crazy” Ringo says.
But, the next EP is founded in country music.

Ringo is set to release a country music EP in 2024?
While attending a poetry reading by Olivia Harrison, late Beatle George Harrison’s widow, Starr ran into “T-Bone” Burnett. They decided to work together. Ringo thought he’d get a pop number, but Burnett instead sent him a country song.
“He actually opened the door,” Ringo says. “So, I thought, ‘Why don’t we do that, too? A country one.’”

The EP, which is still untitled, will be produced by T-Bone Burnett and will feature collaborations with a number of country music artists.
Ringo has not yet announced any specific artists who will be featured on the EP, but he has said that he is excited to be working with Burnett, who is known for his work with artists such as Bob Dylan, Alison Krauss, and Elvis Costello.

Ringo has expressed a love of country music in the past – “Act Naturally” by Buck Owens , What Goes On by The Beatles, his second solo album “Beaucoups of Blues”– and he has even covered a number of country songs throughout his career.

Ringo’s upcoming country music EP is sure to be a treat for fans of both Starr and country music. It will be interesting to see which artists he collaborates with and what kind of sound he brings to the genre. Ringo’s love of country music is evident in his work.
