The Beatles legend originally bought the former bungalow for £26,500 ($34,300) for Mimi Smith, his aunt who raised him. It is now on sale for a staggering £15m ($19m) after being demolished and rebuilt.

John initially bought the former bungalow for £26,500 ($34,300) as a gift for Mimi Smith, the aunt who raised him. The original property, nestled on the exclusive Sandbanks peninsula in Poole Harbour, Dorset, was replaced with a modern two-storey building by a property developer in 1992.

The house changed hands again in 2021 when it was sold for £8 million ($10.4 million) to a millionaire entrepreneur. The new owner added another story and carried out extensive renovations to enhance the breathtaking 180-degree views.
Now listed for sale at £14.95m ($19.4 million), the property sits at the entrance to Poole Harbour, offering panoramic views of the water and Brownsea Island. If it fetches the asking price, it will rank among the priciest property sales in Sandbanks. The luxurious mansion features six bedrooms, with a spacious kitchen/dining/family room taking up half of the first floor. This level also houses four en suite bedrooms and a study, reports the Express.

Steve Isaacs from Luxury and Prestige highlighted that the sale presents a chance to reside on Panorama Road, one of the UK’s most coveted waterside addresses:

“Imagine is an exceptional property. It is an iconic home on Sandbanks and on a stretch of road renowned as one of the most highly prized and exclusive waterside locations anywhere in the UK. It has a stunning interior and the views from it are simply extraordinary and perfectly framed by the many vantage points within the house. We have had the opportunity to sell some great properties on Sandbanks before and Imagine is one of the most spectacular. Its provenance and connection to John Lennon is an added attraction. There are still people in the area who remember Aunt Mimi and recall John Lennon turning up in his Rolls Royce Phantom to visit her.”
