Six years passed since the last time Mexico City heard Paul McCartney live, and the night of this Tuesday ended the wait when Paul arrived with his Got Back Tour at the Foro Sol.
His show started at 9:03 p.m., in front of 60,000 attendees.
After a video with different moments of the tour was projected, Paul’s image appeared on the screens, unleashing an ovation with the greeting he directed to the public.
“Can’t Buy Me Love” was the first song of the night. He addressed the audience and said: “Hello Mexico, good night Mexico City. Tonight I will try to speak a little Spanish,” he said.
“I am very happy to be back,” he expressed, again in Spanish. “Well, I’m going to speak English a little,” he added in his language. “We’re going to play new songs, in the middle, and old ones.”
Later he shouted in Spanish: “They are all right,” causing the excitement of all Foro Sol.
The concert continued with “Hey Jude,” and as is customary, the public accompanied him with the “Na na na na,” causing the excitement of McCartney, who with emotion expressed: “They sound very sweet Mexico.”
After a break of a few minutes, he returned waving the flags of Mexico, England and the LGBT+ community, a tradition of his concerts. The encore began with “I’ve Got a Feeling,” which drove the audience wild by the virtual presence of John Lennon, whose fragment appeared in video.
The show ended with “Carry that weight” and “The end”. Paul said goodbye taking the hand of his musicians, and bowing to the public, who did not stop asking him to sing a couple more songs.
