Paul McCartney‘s latest studio effort, The Boys of Dungeon Lane, has launched at the summit of three separate Billboard rankings while securing the fifth spot on the all-genre Billboard 200.

Paul McCartney’s ‘The Boys of Dungeon Lane’ debuts at No. 1 on three Billboard charts: Top Album Sales, Vinyl Albums, and Independent Store Album Sales. The album also reaches No. 5 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart.

As of the June 13 tracking period, the record debuted within the top five across half a dozen charts, specifically seizing the pole position on the Top Album Sales, Vinyl Albums, and Indie Store Album Sales tallies.

Furthermore, the project arrived at number two on both the Top Rock Albums and Top Rock & Alternative Albums charts.

This accomplishment represents McCartney’s 22nd top 10 entry on the Billboard 200 when considering his extensive catalog as a solo performer and his work with Wings.

While his former band, The Beatles, boasts 32 top 10 appearances—starting with Meet the Beatles! on February 8, 1964—McCartney’s own journey into the top 10 began over 56 years ago with his self-titled 1970 album, which jumped to number three on May 16, 1970, before claiming the top spot the following week.

During its inaugural week ending June 4, The Boys of Dungeon Lane moved 63,000 equivalent album units in the U.S., with traditional album sales accounting for 59,500 of that total.

This strong performance was bolstered by the release of 18 physical formats, including over ten distinct vinyl variations, which alone generated 32,000 copies sold.

The full Billboard charts for the June 13 issue will be available online on June 9.

Throughout his career, Paul’s 22 top 10 hits have been distributed across decades: ten in the 1970s, two in the 1980s, one in the 1990s, four in the 2000s, three in the 2010s, and two thus far in the 2020s, placing him in an elite class of artists who have achieved at least 20 top 10 albums since the Billboard 200 became a weekly fixture in 1956.
