A special edition pinball, The Beatles Gold, from Stern, has been sold in an auction for $30,000 in a charity event.
The Beatles special edition was donated to the Broadway Cares charity fundraiser by pinball veteran Joe Kaminkow through his Ka-Pow Pinball.
Only 1,964 of the special edition Beatles Gold pinballs were ever produced, a number significant because in that year The Beatles were introduced to the US by TV host Ed Sullivan.
The pinballs were built two years ago and Kaminkow decided recently in conjunction with Richard Weitz of William Morris Endeavor to donate his own machine to the charity that has so far raised $6.7m for worthwhile causes.
The buyer in the auction is to receive a personal Pinball 101 Zoom lesson from former number one ranked pinball player Zach Sharpe, who is the current director of marketing at Stern Pinball.
