GEORGE HARRISON & RINGO STARR IN CARL PERKINS' ROCKABILLY REISSUE

Music fans are set for a historic celebration as the acclaimed concert film Blue Suede Shoes: A Rockabilly Session receives a special 40th-anniversary reissue. Scheduled for release on November 13, 2026, the commemorative edition highlights the central role of George Harrison and Ringo Starr in honoring rock-and-roll pioneer Carl Perkins.

Originally recorded live on October 21, 1985, at London’s Limehouse Studios, the star-studded television special celebrated the 30th anniversary of Perkins’ seminal hit “Blue Suede Shoes”. While the event featured extraordinary performances by Eric Clapton, Dave Edmunds, Rosanne Cash, and members of Stray Cats, it was the rare collaborative appearance of George and Ringo that served as the concert’s emotional beating heart.

Deeply influenced by Perkins during their formative years in Liverpool, Harrison and Starr stepped into the spotlight alongside their hero. Harrison delivered stand-out vocal and guitar performances on classic tracks like “Everybody’s Trying to Be My Baby,” “Glad All Over,” and “Your True Love,” while also joining Perkins and Clapton for an acoustic medley. Meanwhile, Starr took over lead vocals for a rousing rendition of “Honey Don’t” and joined Perkins and Clapton on stage for a driving performance of “Matchbox”. The night culminated in a triumphant all-star encore of “Blue Suede Shoes” led by Perkins, Harrison, and Edmunds.

The 40th-anniversary release will feature newly restored high-definition audio and video across deluxe CD/Blu-ray packages and limited-edition yellow vinyl. For Beatles aficionados and rockabilly enthusiasts, the reissue captures a rare, magical evening when two legendary Fab Four members reunited to celebrate the artist who helped shape their sound.
