On this fourth day of sessions, there was a fair amount of original song rehearsals, along with jamming and covers of other artists. John Lennon didn’t arrive on time, so Paul, George, and Ringo moved forward with several tracks on their own. The 2021 documentary Get Back captures the exact moment Paul McCartney begins to compose the song “Get Back.”

The group discussed a potential live performance with director Michael Lindsay-Hogg, who proposed ideas such as a concert at the Sabratha outdoor theatre in Libya, a return to Manila, or a show at an orphanage. The Beatles showed little interest in these suggestions, though Paul did suggest performing somewhere they weren’t supposed to be, such as the Houses of Parliament in London.

Several songs were worked on throughout the day, including “Golden Slumbers,” “She Came In Through The Bathroom Window,” and three takes of John Lennon’s “Gimme Some Truth.”

They also practiced “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer,” for which Mal Evans sourced a hammer and anvil to use on the track. Additionally, they worked on “I’ve Got A Feeling” and “Don’t Let Me Down,” both of which had been selected for the live concert.
