John Lennon’s 85th birthday will be honored with a worldwide listening session for the new ‘Power to the People’ box set.

To commemorate what would have been the iconic Beatles member’s 85th birthday, a special international listening party for the $Power$ $to$ $the$ $People$ collection is scheduled for Thursday, October 9, beginning at 3 p.m. ET. The box set itself will be widely available the following day, Friday, October 10. Fans can tune into the event at CitizenofNutopia.com, as announced on Lennon’s official social media channels.

The listening party is just one of several celebratory events happening on October 9, a day that also marks the 50th birthday of John and Yoko Ono’s son, Sean.

Further commemorations include:

• The Lighting of the Imagine Peace Tower: At 4 p.m. ET, this art installation near Reykjavik, Iceland—created by Ono as a tribute to Lennon—will be illuminated. The lighting, which first took place in 2007, can be viewed live at ImaginePeaceTower.com.
• The Central Park Singalong: A gathering to celebrate both John and Sean’s birthdays will be held at the Imagine Circle in the Strawberry Fields area of New York City’s Central Park at 4:15 p.m. ET. Fans will meet at the mosaic to sing Lennon’s famous anthem, “$Imagine$.”
• Release of the One to One Concerts Audio: On October 10 at midnight ET, the audio from Lennon and Ono’s landmark August 1972 One to One shows at Madison Square Garden will become available for streaming and download. This same audio is featured in the physical copies of the $Power$ $to$ $the$ $People$ box set.
