This weekend, several film crews were spotted in Liverpool capturing scenes for the new BBC Beatles series.

The 6-part series focuses on the early years of The Beatles, recounting the group’s transformation from a band of teenagers performing concerts in Germany to becoming the most successful band in the world.

Rhys Mannion will play John Lennon, Ellis Murphy will portray Paul McCartney, and Harvey Brett will star as George Harrison. Meanwhile, actor Louis Landau will play Stu Sutcliffe, while Patrick Gilmore will take on the role of Pete Best. The series is based on the book written by Klaus Voormann and Astrid Kirchherr.

Yesterday, crews were filming scenes in the Georgian Quarter in the city center. They were also at one of the region’s most famous bars, The Jacaranda, located on Slater Street and closely associated with The Beatles and their formative years.
