The Museum of Modern Art will host a dedicated first-day-of-issue ceremony for a new issuance of U.S. Postal Service stamps celebrating the creative legacy and life of Linda McCartney. The pane of 20 stamps showcases five distinctive photographs by McCartney, accompanied by selvage art depicting a black-and-white self-portrait of the photographer behind her camera. Art direction for the stamp pane was provided by USPS Art Director Derry Noyes.

Linda McCartney (1941–1998) gained widespread recognition for capturing iconic 1960s musicians through a style distinguished by candidness and vitality.

In 1968, her portrait of Eric Clapton earned her the distinction of becoming the first female photographer to land a cover image on Rolling Stone magazine. Beyond her artistic achievements, McCartney was a prominent advocate for animal rights and served as a seminal figure in the modern vegetarian movement.

Her portfolio—frequently featuring her husband, Paul McCartney, their children, their pets, and understated moments of daily life—has been showcased across the United States, as well as in major international venues including the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Royal Photographic Society in England.
