RINGO STARR'S WORKOUT ROUTINE

At 86 years old, Ringo Starr stays tour-ready through a dedicated fitness regimen of up to five days a week, blending cardiovascular exercises with strength training.

“Just to get my heartbeat [up] and get on the treadmill, do a bit of running and weights,” he explained. “I’ve been doing it so long, it’s just like, ‘Oh, I’ll go over to the gym.’”

While he works out with a personal trainer three times weekly, he frequently squeezes in additional solo sessions thanks to having a gym nearby.

“I have a trainer still three times a week,” he said. “And the gym’s just there. I go in on my own at least one day, usually two days, when she’s not there.”

Staying active has become second nature to him over time through self-discipline, serving as the foundation for his endurance during live drumming performances.

“You know, there’s no special way. It’s just that no one can do it for you,” Ringo said. “You’ve got to get out of bed and do it.”

This relentless commitment to staying fit is clearly paying off. Speaking with USA Today, Ringo playfully suggested that he might outlast his bandmate Paul McCartney on the road.

When asked if there was any friendly rivalry between them over who could keep touring longer, Ringo quipped, “Well, it may look like that, but I’ll be the longest.” Given his current energy levels and consistent schedule, he certainly stands a strong chance.
