“The Magical Mystery Beatles Quiz Book“ by Mark Chatterton has just been published by Hadleigh Books of the UK. This is not just any ordinary Beatles book with the same old questions, but one that has been researched over a number of years by Beatles historian, fan and author, Mark Chatterton. There are 1000 different questions in 100 different categories all with multiple choice alternative answers. Each category has 10 questions. There are seven main categories – the music, the people, the places, the TV and radio shows, the concerts, odds and ends, and finally a “pot pouri” section of general questions.

So, questions on all the individual Beatles albums are included, as are The Beatles wives, girlfriends, children, parents and those who worked behind the scenes for them at both NEMs, EMI and Apple. Also included are questions on places associated with The Beatles, such as Liverpool, Hamburg, London, New York and India. Then the various concert tours that they took around the world, as well as in both the UK and The USA also have their questions. Finally, there are question sets on such subjects as TV and Radio shows, their instruments, the fashions they inspired, the drugs they took, the controversies involving them, and the court cases involving them.

In fact, there is bound to be something in this book that will appeal to both hardcore Beatles fans as well as the casual fans, or a quizmaster looking for questions suitable for their quiz.

Mark Chatterton is a Beatles historian and fan who has followed The Beatles since 1963. He was born in Liverpool, not far from the famous Penny Lane, as well as both Paul McCartney‘s and John Lennon‘s childhood homes. He has written about The Beatles for several Beatles publications, as well as writing articles for the UK magazines, Q, Record Collector and Classic Rock. He is the author of books on U2 and Wishbone Ash, and has written the sleeve notes for many 60s, 70s and 80s artists including Helen Shapiro, Jack Bruce, Ten Years After, Robin Trower, Pat Benatar and Mountain. He runs the podcast, “Mark Chatterton’s Rock Files”.
