The rare item sparked an international bidding war before eventually being secured by a collector in the United States, according to Joseph Trinder of Gloucestershire’s Wotton Auction Rooms.

Measuring just 10 x 7 cm, the pocket-sized book contains the authentic autographs of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. While experts initially valued the piece between $800 and $1,200, the final sale price on December 30th proved the enduring global demand for “Fab Four” memorabilia.

“I am delighted with such an outstanding result for this charming artifact,” Trinder remarked. “The level of interest from multiple countries was fantastic, though it was ultimately an American bidder who won the lot.”

The provenance of the book adds a layer of 1960s London glamour. The back cover is embossed with the details of Oddi’s Restaurant in Shepherd’s Bush—a well-known celebrity haunt located near the former BBC Television Centre.

During the height of Beatlemania, the band were regulars at the BBC, filming iconic appearances on programs like Juke Box Jury and Blue Peter. According to the family of the original owner the autographs were obtained by the owner’s mother while she was working as a waitress at Oddi’s. After serving the band, she realized she didn’t have paper on hand and asked them to sign the restaurant’s promotional address book instead. This “spur-of-the-moment” keepsake remained in the family for decades before coming to auction.
