THE BEATLES' BIOPICS WILL BE FILMED IN RISHIKESH

In a major boost to regional tourism and India’s growing footprint in global cinema, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami convened with a delegation of international filmmakers on Sunday to finalize arrangements for an upcoming multi-part film project centered on The Beatles.

The ambitious initiative, working under the project title CLOVER, is slated to begin principal photography in February 2027 at Rishikesh’s historic Chaurasi Kutia—famously recognized worldwide as the “Beatles Ashram.”

Helmed by Academy Award-winning director Sam Mendes, the high-profile venture is being produced by Neal Street Productions for Sony Pictures Entertainment in collaboration with Apple Corps. Officially titled The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event, the series comprises four distinct feature films, each chronicling the personal and musical journey of a band member, with a global theatrical rollout scheduled for April 2028.

Key figures attending the meeting included BAFTA-nominated producer Alexandra Derbyshire, Indian film producer Dilip Singh Rathore, and supervising location manager Emma Pill, with domestic logistics overseen by On The Road India.

The upcoming production is set to deploy over 100 foreign crew members alongside 150 domestic technicians and support personnel, with state officials anticipating a notable surge in local employment opportunities as well as a direct financial uplift for the hospitality, transit, and commercial sectors across the region. Chief Minister Dhami highlighted that the state’s 2024 Film Policy aims to foster a streamlined, welcoming environment for both domestic and foreign film crews, expressing confidence that hosting the production will further enhance Uttarakhand’s international profile and stimulate foreign travel to the state.
