On this eighth day of the sessions, John, Paul, and Ringo returned to Twickenham Film Studios to continue the project. It had been a tense weekend without George, who did not attend the session.
Ringo was the first to arrive, followed by Paul accompanied by Linda, while John Lennon arrived late. This session was dominated by conversations regarding the prevailing mood within the group. During lunch, John and Paul discussed the band’s internal relationships—a moment that was not filmed.

However, Michael Lindsay-Hogg’s crew had placed a hidden microphone in a flowerpot near them and captured the audio, which was later restored and included in Peter Jackson’s 2021 documentary Get Back. In this recording, John admits that their music has become formulaic, contrasting it with the excitement of recording Revolver in 1966. He also mentions that the only challenge left for them is to go solo, though at that moment, he seemed uncertain about the idea of leaving the group.

Paul, for his part, suggested that John and Ringo focus on performing to the best of their abilities. He also wondered about the best way to guide George toward a specific playing style. Finally, the three Beatles considered the possibility of meeting with George again, but Mal Evans informed them that he had gone to Liverpool and would return in two days. They resumed the session at Twickenham with “Get Back,” “You’re My World,” “Build Me Up Buttercup,” and “No Other Love,” all of which appeared in the second part of the 2021 documentary.
