Today, December 8, 2025, marks 45 years since the world lost one of its most talented, brilliant, and influential people: John Lennon. His death in 1980, at the entrance of the Dakota Building in New York, shocked us all. The voice of someone who had become a beacon for several generations was silenced.

John’s figure is dual and fascinating. He is remembered, of course, as the co-founder of The Beatles, the band that redefined popular music and whose footprint is indelible. He created some of the most iconic songs in history. His talent as a composer and his wit were fundamental pillars of the Beatle phenomenon.

After the band’s breakup, his solo career cemented him not only as a musician but as an activist and a symbol of peace.

Despite his life being tragically cut short at the age of 40, his impact is still being felt. Every December 8th, thousands of people gather in the Strawberry Fields area of Central Park and in various places in many countries to remember him, proving that, even though he is gone, the ideal of peace, love, and understanding remains vital and necessary.
