Paul McCartney has joined forces with War Child UK and AOAP Projects to launch the third instalment of the Sound & Vision series. This creative fundraising campaign combines music and visual art through a special exhibition and auction, gathering essential support for children living through conflict.

For this year’s edition, McCartney asked 61 contemporary artists to draw inspiration from a famous line in Wings’ 1973 classic Band on the Run: “Well the rain exploded with a mighty crash as we fell into the sun”. 

Using this vivid line as a creative foundation, each participant crafted a unique artwork. The complete collection will be displayed at London’s Iconic Images Gallery with free admission from November 6 to 8. Following the exhibition, the pieces will be featured in an online charity auction running from October 27 through November 12.

Paul’s participation builds upon a legacy of support for War Child, which notably includes his 1995 recording of a revised version of The Beatles’ “Come Together” for the charity’s groundbreaking HELP album.
