PAUL McCARTNEY DONATES ICONIC BOOTS FOR KING's TRUST CHARITY AUCTION

Paul McCartney has gifted the boots he performed in during the 2012 Diamond Jubilee Concert to a charity auction benefiting The King’s Trust (previously known as The Prince’s Trust). The footwear is expected to fetch between $4,000 and $6,000. The sale, organized by Julien’s Auctions in Los Angeles, takes place on November 19 at 10:00 a.m. PT.

The custom-made black Chelsea boots hold a special place in music and British history. Beyond the historic Diamond Jubilee Concert outside Buckingham Palace, where Paul closed the show in front of Queen Elizabeth II and millions of viewers worldwide, the former Beatle also wore this footwear during his On The Run tour dates and at the London 2012 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony.

This high-profile event is part of a landmark charity auction organized by Julien’s Auctions in celebration of the 50th anniversary of The King’s Trust. Founded in 1976 by King Charles III (then Prince of Wales), the youth charity supports young people aged 11 to 30 across the UK by helping them build essential skills, secure employment, and start their own businesses.

McCartney is far from the only legend lending his support to the cause. The auction features an array of rare rock-and-roll memorabilia donated by international icons, including Genesis frontman Phil Collins, Elton John, Mick Jagger, Brian May, Roger Taylor, Pierce Brosnan, and Barbra Streisand. Collins leads the sale with stage outfits and instruments from his legendary career. Highlights of the auction will go on public display at The Peninsula Beverly Hills before bidding opens live and online, offering music enthusiasts and collectors a rare chance to own a piece of pop culture history while supporting a noble cause.
