PAUL McCARTNEY PRESENTED HIS NEW ALBUM AT ABBEY ROAD STUDIOS

Once again, Paul McCartney is surprising everyone. Today, he headed to Abbey Road Studios in London to present his new album “The Boys Of Dungeon Lane” to a small number of people.

It was an intimate gathering where Paul performed and spoke about the tracks included in his production. An exclusive session, a listening party of the album for the press and guests.

Over the course of a 90-minute session, he captivated the crowd with the inspirations and backstories of the 14 tracks featured on his 21st solo record, which is scheduled to drop on May 29. McCartney shared with the audience that the project’s origins date back five years to his initial meeting with Andrew Watt, an American producer famous for his collaborations with icons like Lady Gaga, Elton John, and the Rolling Stones.

The fans themselves became emotional when McCartney spoke about collaborating with Starr on the album, after the drummer spent some time with Watt at his LA studio. “A Paul and Ringo duet – something we’d never done!” said the musician, who noted that “quite a few of the songs on this album go back in time… that’s what you draw from”.

In an afternoon soaked through with nostalgia, Paul did take a moment to acknowledge the present-day. He addressed “all this turbulence in the world” as he spoke about a song inspired by his parents, who raised him during World War Two. “Imagine we’re in here,” he told the audience, “and any minute now you’re expecting bombs to fall… I wondered what that [feeling] would do to you.”

Paul McCartney’s album The Boys of Dungeon Lane is out on 29 May.
