RINGO STARR CELEBRATING 86 YEARS OF PEACE & LOVE

Today, July 7, 2026, the music world celebrates a special milestone: the 86th birthday of Sir Richard Starkey, known universally as Ringo Starr. The legendary drummer of The Beatles is not only a fundamental piece of rock history but also a living symbol of positivity and resilience.

Born in 1940 in the working-class neighborhood of Dingle, Liverpool, Ringo’s life was not always easy. During his childhood, he faced serious health problems that kept him out of the classroom for years. It was during those difficult moments, while staying in the hospital, that he discovered his love for percussion—an instrument that would become his voice and his destiny.

Before joining the “Fab Four” in 1962, Ringo was already a known figure on the local scene with the band Rory Storm and the Hurricanes. It was there that he adopted his iconic stage name: “Ringo” for his penchant for wearing many rings, and “Starr” so that his drum solo would be billed as “Starr Time.”

Ringo Starr defined a new standard for drumming in pop and rock. His genius lay in his ability to serve the song rather than show off himself.
