Today marked the official release of Ringo Starr‘s LP “Long Long Road,” accompanied by the official music video for the title track.

The song stands out for its reflective tone and a visual production that pays tribute to his career, featuring several of the most significant moments in Ringo’s life. “Long Long Road” is a ballad with a classic rock-pop sound characteristic of Ringo’s solo style, with lyrics and melody evoking nostalgia and resilience—themes that have become recurrent in his most recent work.

The track features clean instrumentation where Ringo’s distinctive drumming style naturally shines, accompanied by string arrangements and acoustic guitars that reinforce the feeling of the “road traveled.”

The video utilizes a blend of contemporary footage of Ringo performing the song with a visually warm aesthetic. The concept of the “long road” is reflected in the editing, which flows at a steady pace to match the song’s rhythm.

Ringo’s presence on camera is central; he appears comfortable, radiating his trademark message of peace and love. Furthermore, the video includes memorable moments from throughout his life, such as glimpses of his childhood, his parents, and his neighborhood in Liverpool, moving through his time with John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and George Harrison.

Viewers can also spot his first wife Maureen, his children, his wedding to Barbara Bach, and scenes from his solo career. He is seen alongside American producer and songwriter T Bone Burnett, who wrote or co-wrote six of the album’s songs, including the first single “It’s Been Too Long.” Other scenes showcase performances with the All Starr Band as the video continues to move forward, leading Ringo down a long highway. The use of lighting highlights an atmosphere of introspection and artistic maturity.

“Long Long Road” is Ringo’s twenty-second studio album, released today via Universal Music Enterprises. It marks his third country music album, following Beaucoups of Blues (1970) and (2025), and features special guest appearances by Billy Strings, Sheryl Crow, St. Vincent, Molly Tuttle, and Sarah Jarosz.
