As reported by the BBC, a collection of photographs featuring recording equipment that helped create the history of The Beatles’ music will go on display in London.

This Abbey Road photography exhibition will explore “almost a century of music history.”

Fans will be able to see the inside of the Sgt. Pepper album’s mono master tape, alongside a famous Neumann U48 microphone used countless times by many musicians.

This free exhibition is a “reflection on how music photography not only captures moments of creation, but shapes how music is seen, felt and remembered in our own lives.” Photographs of the Studer J37 4-track machine that recorded the 1967 Sgt. Pepper’s album entirely to tape, the Sgt. Pepper bass drum designed by Sir Peter Blake, and other very interesting images for any Beatles fan can also be appreciated.

The collection of images taken at Abbey Road Studios will go on display starting August 11 at London’s Iconic Images Gallery.

Sally Davies, Abbey Road managing director, said: “For the first time, this exhibition explores almost a century of music history through the tools brought to life by legends and the images that define the Abbey Road story.”
