A rare, signed copy of the Beatles‘ American-only album Beatles ’65 brought £19,500 at an Anderson & Garland auction on August 27, 2026. Prior to the sale, the item had remained in the same family’s care for 61 years until it was put up for auction by her three sons. This item stands out as one of merely two known surviving signed copies of this particular US release.

The autographs were secured for BOAC flight attendant Angela Bass following her conversations with all four band members during a journey home.

On March 10, 1965, the musicians signed the jacket aboard a return BOAC Boeing 707 flight from the Bahamas to London—a trip dubbed the “Beatles Bahamas Express.”

The band had just finished shooting location scenes in the Bahamas for Help!, their second feature film. George Harrison penned his signature on the front, while John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and Ringo Starr inscribed the rear cover.

Capitol Records originally issued Beatles ’65 across the US and Canada on December 15, 1964. Following its debut, the record dominated the Billboard album chart, holding the number-one spot for nine straight weeks.
