Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr’s new song ‘Home to Us’ was released today. The track created by Paul McCartney is featured on his new album, “The Boys of Dungeon Lane“, and features Ringo Starr on vocals and drums.

Paul himself presented it as follows:

“My new single with Ringo, ‘Home to Us‘, is out now.

The song’s a look back at where it all began – Liverpool.”

“Home To Us” is the second single from the new album and features backing vocals by Chrissie Hynde and Sharleen Spiteri.

Paul said: “Ringo came to the studio and played some drums. I told Andrew [Watt, producer] that we should record a song and send it to him. So this song was made with Ringo completely in mind. When writing the song, I talk about our origins. Like many people, we started from nothing and carved out our own path. Ringo was from Dingle, and life there was tough. He said he used to get mugged on his way home because he worked. Even though it was crazy, it was our home.

I composed the song based on that idea and sent it to Ringo. He sent me a version where he had only added a few lines to the chorus, so I thought, ‘Maybe he doesn’t like it.’ I called him and he told me he thought I only wanted him to sing one or two lines, and I told him I would love to hear him sing the whole song. So we took my first line, Ringo’s second line, and then we did a duo. We had never done anything like that before. Afterwards we wanted backing vocals and I thought it would be nice to hear girls. Chrissie Hynde said she would do it, and Sharleen Spiteri did too; they are friends. So they did it.”
