NEW LOOKS AT THE FILMING OF SAM MENDES’ BEATLES BIOPICS

Production for the Sam Mendes-directed Beatles biopics is currently underway, with filming taking place at multiple sites throughout Liverpool and London.
We were able to catch a glimpse of the filming, including scenes featuring Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr alongside his 1964 Facel Vega.
At the time, advertisements claimed it was the ‘fastest four-seater car in the world,’ reaching speeds of 225 km/h.
Ringo paid £5,570 for it—an incredibly high price for a car back then.
He bought it directly from the stand at the 1964 Earls Court Motor Show, and it was delivered to his home in Weybridge, Surrey.
Here we also see Mia McKenna-Bruce as Maureen Cox, who worked as a hairdresser from a young age. Maureen was a regular at the Cavern Club, where the Beatles performed frequently.
Sam Mendes, during the filming in Liverpool. Mendes described the films as the ‘first binge-able theatrical experience’.
This marks a historic milestone, as it’s the very first time Apple Corps Ltd and all four members of the Beatles—Paul, Ringo, and the estates of John and George—have provided their comprehensive life stories and full music catalog for a narrative feature.
