The album’s performance was driven by outstanding commercial sales figures, for the week ending October 8, Rubber Soul accumulated 58,000 equivalent album units in the U.S., marking an impressive 1,626% surge compared to the 4,000 units from the previous period. Of that total, 50,000 corresponded to pure album sales, an achievement that granted it the No. 1 spot on Top Album Sales (an all-genre chart) for the eighth time for the group since the chart’s creation in 1991. Likewise, its 24,000 copies sold in vinyl format allowed it to lead the Vinyl Albums chart for the seventh time in its 15-year history.

After securing the top spot across three Billboard charts and fourth place on the Global Top 200 chart for the week of October 17, the iconic release by The Beatles remains among the top ten in those three charts where it previously reached No. 1:

  • On Top Album Sales, the record dropped from the top spot to No. 7, a chart now led by Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life of A Show Girl’.

  • On the Vinyl Albums ranking, the work fell from the lead to No. 9, giving up the top spot to Greta Van Fleet’s Palace For The People.

  • Within Top Rock Albums, the record slid from No. 1 to the 10th position, leaving first place in the hands of Noah Kahan’s The Great Divide.

  • Finally, on the Global Top 200 Albums chart, where it held fourth place the previous week, it fell to No. 45 for the October 24 issue. It is worth noting that this album has logged 72 historic weeks on this ranking, having stayed at the top for 6 weeks upon its original release; currently, this list is dominated by Taylor Swift with ‘The Life of A Show Girl’.

The album’s historical impact adds to a streak of achievements. For the week of October 17, Rubber Soul became the seventh Beatles album to top the Top Rock Albums chart (established in 2006). Previously, the band reached the summit with Love (2007), Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (2017), Abbey Road (2019), and Revolver (2022). For tracking and chart compilation purposes, all versions and reissues of the album are combined into a single entry.

At the same time, the British production managed to re-enter the main Billboard 200 at No. 4. This feat had not been seen in the top 10 of that chart since the week of April 9, 1966. Back then, the iconic album dominated the No. 1 spot for six consecutive weeks between January 8 and February 12.
