An upcoming 2026 release is set to offer an intimate glimpse into the Beatles’ peak years through the lens of George Harrison himself. Titled The Third Eye: Early Photographs, this 352-page hardcover collection debuts on October 6 in the U.S. and October 8 in the U.K. It features over 250 images captured between 1963 and 1970—many of which have never been seen by the public—ranging from vibrant color shots and classic black-and-white photography to rare 8mm film stills.

​Curated by his widow, Olivia Harrison, the book includes her personal introduction alongside essays by renowned writers Colm Tóibín and George Saunders. The visual journey is further enriched by George’s own words, including previously unreleased quotes. Olivia noted that the collection aims to showcase George’s “unique photographic perspective” during a time of “unknowable possibilities,” while publisher Andy Ward described the work as a rare, deeply personal window into a cultural revolution.

​The book chronicles the Fab Four’s whirlwind life, featuring candid moments of the band working and traveling across the globe. Highlights include: Authentic shots from their roots in Liverpool, Behind-the-scenes at The Ed Sullivan Show and Miami Beach, Stops in Australia, Tahiti, and the Eiffel Tower, Iconic imagery from their journey to Rishikesh, India.

​Armed with his Pentax camera, Harrison didn’t just document his bandmates; he also experimented with “old-school” mirror selfies. As George once reflected, photography allowed him to capture the feeling of a moment rather than just its literal appearance. While the standard edition arrives in 2026, a special deluxe version is slated for release in late 2025 for eager collectors.
