The primary objective for this final session was to ensure the film crew captured high-quality footage and audio of these remaining songs.

The band dedicated significant energy to “Let It Be”, documenting a total of 22 takes. Following a lunch hiatus, the group recorded several versions of “The Long and Winding Road”, including the specific take later selected for the 2003 Let It Be… Naked release. “Two Of Us” was the third core track prioritized for the cameras that day.

The day wasn’t strictly business; the band indulged in a variety of “golden oldies” and spontaneous covers. Notably, Paul McCartney revisited “Step Inside Love” (a song he’d penned for Cilla Black) and performed a unique rendition of “Lady Madonna” featuring improvised lyrics about the British socialites, the Dockers.

The session also included a vocal performance by McCartney on “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)”, a track that would later anchor the Abbey Road album.

Much of the day’s work—spanning from folk covers like “Take This Hammer” to the polished versions of their new hits—was eventually showcased in the third installment of Peter Jackson’s 2021 documentary, The Beatles: Get Back.
