PAUL McCARTNEY ON VERNON KAY'S SHOW ON BBC RADIO 2

Paul McCartney made an appearance on Vernon Kay’s BBC Radio 2 show to join a unique “Tracks Of My Years” segment, where he selected ten songs that have defined his life.

On Radio 2, Vernon remarked:

“Yes, it’s Paul McCartney! Paul McCartney did ‘Tracks of My Years,’ and it was truly the best. As a music fan, finding myself face-to-face with a quarter of The Beatles was incredible. Paul has achieved such tremendous success in his solo career and has been rightfully acclaimed for his songwriting and everything he creates. It was such a special moment.

We were so excited, and Paul didn’t disappoint. He was such a lovely person—very kind and full of questions. We struck up a friendship so quickly, it felt as though we had known each other for a long time. I couldn’t stop laughing; at times, it was quite emotional. I was sitting right across from Paul McCartney. At one point, the room just seemed to transform. I couldn’t even process what Paul was saying; I was completely in a trance just looking at his face. I kept thinking to myself, ‘It’s Paul McCartney…’ His lips were moving, but the words weren’t registering. I kept repeating, ‘It’s Paul McCartney,’ while sitting right there in front of him. We talked for an hour and a half. It was ‘Paul and Vern’s time’—’Vern and Paul’s Time’ on BBC Radio 2! It was truly special, a moment that will stay in my heart forever.”
