The Universal Music Japan International channel on their YouTube platform has announced a special program titled: “Paul McCartney Live/ MV Special” for this July 7th at 9:00 PM.

“Paul McCartney: 来日祈願 LIVE / MVスペシャル” (Paul McCartney: Live/MV Special for a Japan Visit Wish)

Date and time: July 7th (Tuesday) at 9:00 PM (Japan time).

The program is organized as an initiative to express fans’ desire for Paul McCartney to tour in Japan again (his last visit was in 2018). It will include a selection of tracks from his career, covering his time with The Beatles, Wings, and his solo work, in addition to including songs from his most recent album.

Paul will not be present live; it is a pre-recorded program designed for fans to enjoy the music together. It will also not be available as an archive (it will not be saved to watch later).

This special is a way to celebrate “Tanabata” (the Star Festival in Japan, which is celebrated precisely on July 7th), a date on which wishes are traditionally made.
